DESCRIPTION:We are holding an informal hack weekend to explore the potenti
 al of extracting factual data from the primary literature (now legal in th
 e UK for research purposes). We are delighted to have representation from 
 two important organizations in Crystallography:\n - the Crystallography Op
 en Database (COD\, http://www.crystallography.net/ ) with over 250\,000 Op
 en Organic\, Organometallic and Inorganic structures.\n - Brian McMahon an
 d colleagues (International Union of Crystallography)\nWe shall concentrat
 e on extracting crystal and related data (properties\, spectra\, synthesis
 \, computation\, etc.) from the current literature using a novel set of to
 ols from contentmine.org.\n\nHeld in the Centre for Molecular Informatics\
 , Chemistry Dept\, Lensfield Road. Anyone welcome. We work in small groups
  so you don't need to know any chemistry. It helps if you have your own la
 ptop and can install programs.\n\nThe hackathon (see https://en.wikipedia.
 org/wiki/Hackathon ) will run 0900-1700 each day. PLEASE LET SUE BEGG (smb
