recombination or reversion of meiotic progression - Dr Alain Nicolas\, In

DESCRIPTION:In somatic cells\, recombination between the homologous pairs
of chromosomes is rare\, thus preserving the genetic integrity of cells. I
n contrast\, it is rather frequent but not randomly distributed during mei
osis\, allowing the production of recombinant gametes. I will present our
recent advances to (i) target and modify meiotic recombination profiles in
the yeast S. cerevisiae and (ii) generate recombinant yeast diploid cells
upon reversion of meiosis\, a powerful method that can be used to identif
y the QTL of complex traits\, without going through sexual reproduction.\n
