SUMMARY:Genome diversity and evolution of DNA methylation genome in the hu
man genome. - Professor Tomas Marques-Bonet\, Institut Biologia Evolutiva
 (Universitat Pompeu Fabra/CSIC)\, Barcelona

DESCRIPTION:Despite great advances in sequencing technologies\, our knowle
dge in population structure\, phylogeny and adaptation of great apes is st
ill limited. Our group is working to provide a better understanding on the
demographic patterns that shapes the diversity of these species\, with sp
ecial focus on chimpanzee species. We will also discuss how differential p
atterns in tandem repeat variation and CpG methylation between humans and
great apes contributes to the evolution of our species.
