DESCRIPTION:This talk is in two parts\, the first of which concerns soluti
 ons of the\nSU(2) Hitchin equations on R^2. Such fields are labelled by an
  integer n\,\nand for n>2 one gets a hyperkahler moduli space M. I shall d
 escribe some of\nthe geometry of M in the simplest case n=3. The second pa
 rt of the talk\nintroduces an integrable lattice version of the Hitchin eq
 uations\, motivated\nby ADHM data for T^2-symmetric instantons.
