DESCRIPTION:Two railway bridges\, a prestressed concrete bridge and steel 
 half-through bridge\, have been extensively instrumented for the Staffords
 hire Alliance Bridge Monitoring Project with both distributed and discrete
  fibre optic sensors. This presentation will provide an overview of the in
 strumentation and monitoring scheme and will discuss the broader goals of 
 the project\, which aims to advance the feasibility of monitoring systems 
 implemented during the construction of new bridges.
