DESCRIPTION:In a clean quantum critical metal\, and in the absence of umkl
app\, most \nd.c. conductivities are formally infinite due to momentum \nc
onservation. However\, there is a particular combination of the charge \n
and heat currents which has a finite\, universal conductivity. In this \nt
alk\, I will describe the physics of this conductivity in quantum \ncriti
cal metals obtained by charge doping a strongly interacting \nconformal fi
eld theory. I will show that it satisfies an Einstein \nrelation and contr
ols the diffusivity of a conserved charge in the \nmetal. I will compute i
t in a class of theories with holographic \ngravitational duals. Finally\
, I will show how its temperature scaling of \ndepends on certain critical
exponents characterizing the quantum \ncritical metal. The holographic re
sults are found to be reproduced by \nthe scaling analysis\, with the char
ge density operator\nbecoming marginal in the emergent low energy quantum
 critical theory.
