DESCRIPTION:Selective logging is the most widespread degrading force in th
e tropics. Focusing on my work in Borneo\, a region which has suffered som
e of the most intensive harvesting globally\, I will investigate the impac
ts of selective logging on biodiversity and ecological functioning. I wi
ll then discuss possible ways of improving the management of selectively l
ogged forests to reduce the loss of biodiversity.
