DESCRIPTION:Bringing together physics\, chemistry and some biology\, Sir T
 om Blundell will be describing how his initiatives in drug discovery have 
 moved to the Science Park in the early 2000s\, but are now coming back to 
 academia in order to work on new medicine for rare cancers and the disease
 s of third world poverty.\n\nSir Prof Blundell graduated from Brasenose Co
 llege Oxford\, and has held several distinguished research positions at Ox
 ford University\, Birkbeck College\, and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund
  Unit. He was Chief Execuitive of BBSRC from 1994-1996. Sir Prof Blundell 
 has founded Astex\, a highly successful company specialising in using comp
 utational techniques and X-ray crystallography to identify novel cancer dr
