DESCRIPTION:At AstraZeneca\, our purpose is to push the boundaries of scie
 nce to deliver life-changing medicines. The future treatment for many of t
 oday’s diseases lies in discovering new biology\, and understanding and 
 challenging scientific hypotheses\, to develop novel therapies. The advent
  of the genomics revolution brings with it an expanding list of pathways a
 nd targets to pursue - and with it new drug discovery challenges. By combi
 ning new technologies with medical understanding\, we are making progress 
 in our ability to define and deliver novel treatments for a variety of com
 plex diseases. We also recognise that to be successful we need to work in 
 partnership. Our teams continue to find innovative ways of collaborating w
 ith the best academic and industrial partners.
