DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED: The new field of Synthetic Biology is based upon\nt
 he adoption of (i) engineering principles of \nabstraction and modularity\
 , (ii) computational \ntools from Systems Biology and (iii) new genetic \n
 engineering techniques and components - for \nthe rational design and asse
 mbly of new \nbiological systems. It is a practical subject\, \nconcerned 
 with the construction of new living \nartifacts. The new interdisciplinary
  field is being \npropelled by the need for improved plant and \nmicrobial
  feedstocks\, bioenergy sources\, and \nnew catalysts for bioprocessing. S
 ynthetic \nBiology is seeing a rising tide of new scientific \nactivities\
 , research funding and commercial \ninvestment.
