DESCRIPTION:Currently Professor of Plant Development and head of the Sains
 bury's laboratory\, Professor Leyser researches the role of plant hormones
  in development. Amongst the life-sciences community\, she is perhaps most
  well-known for her identification of the auxin receptor and her world-lea
 ding role in promoting Arabidopsis to be the prominent model organism it i
 s now. Her work has resulted in an impressive number of awards and honours
  to her name.\n\nAway from her research\, she is a member of the Nuffield 
 Council on Bioethics and was a member of the Council's Working Party on Bi
 ofuels. She also often represents successful women in science\, producing 
 with the Royal Society "Mothers in Science - 64 ways to have it all"
