DESCRIPTION:Our first talk this year is by Prof. Samson Abramsky from the
University of Oxford\, who will be talking about quantum computing. Read m
ore about his work here: http://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/samson.abramsky/\n\nEntry
is FREE to everyone and attendees are welcome to join us at the pub afterw
ards where CUCaTS will buy your first pint/drink. FREE BEER!\n\nThe talk w
ill take place at the Trinity Hall Lecture Theatre (ask at the plodge for
directions).\n\nA little about Samson Abramsky: He has played a leading ro
le in the development of game semantics\, and its applications to the sema
ntics of programming languages. Other notable contributions include his wo
rk on domain theory in logical form\, the lazy lambda calculus\, strictnes
 s analysis\, concurrency theory\, interaction categories\, and geometry of
interaction. He has recently been working on high-level methods for quant
um computation and information.\n\nCome along to find out more about quant
um computation from the pioneer himself!
LOCATION: Lecture Theatre\, Trinity Hall.
