DESCRIPTION:John Boyd is currently secretary of the Campaign against Euro-
 federalism (CAEF) and chairman of the European Alliance of EU sceptical Mo
 vements (TEAM). He is a founder member of CAEF which is oriented towards t
 he labour and trade union movement and is editor of CAEF’s journal\, The
  Democrat. He is currently writing a series of pamphlets entitled ‘How t
 he EU Operates’.  He has been a member of the cross-party Campaign for a
 n Independent Britain (formerly British Anti-Common Market Campaign) of wh
 ich he has been a vice chairman.  . As an engineer\, he says he is a walki
 ng example of what has happened since Britain joined the Common Market in 
 1973.
