DESCRIPTION:I review the key cosmological observations that have shaped ou
 r current understanding of the cosmos\, with particular attention to the p
 rimordial universe. Walking the path of future observational developments\
 , I discuss the theoretical implication of the measurements of the microwa
 ve background anisotropies in temperature and polarization\, the large sca
 le structures of the universe\, and the microwave background energy spectr
 um. Along the way\, I speculate on how these data will sharpen our models 
 and perhaps shift our paradigms.
