DESCRIPTION:Both ATLAS and CMS have possibly seen hints of a new 2 TeV par
ticle decaying to two bosons (a boson meaning W\, Z or H)\; the most strik
ing is a bump\, apparently of 3.4 sigma local significance\, released by A
TLAS in June 2015. I will first review the experimental evidence\, before
discussing what it would imply for the putative particle's properties. I w
ill then review the models in the literature that could explain its origin
s.\nIn a couple of months' time\, this topic will become either terribly e
xciting or rather moot\, as by then the LHC experiments should have collec
ted enough Run 2 data to corroborate or refute the existence of such a 2 T
 eV resonance.
