DESCRIPTION:A number of recent developments in software engineering - scri
 pting\nlanguages\, aspect-oriented programming\, agile methods\, design\np
 atterns\, pluggable type systems - share a number of common\nattributes. T
hese developments avoid a unifying theme or plan\, focus\non negotiation b
etween different concerns\, and exhibit a high level of\ncontext sensitivi
ty. We argue that these developments are evidence of\na postmodern turn in
software engineering. In this talk\, we'll survey\na number of these deve
lopments and describe their potential\nimplications for the practice of so
 ftware engineering.\n
