DESCRIPTION:SUMMARY:\n\nColin Eddie will be presenting his own perspective
  on the past\, present and future of Tunnelling. Mr Eddie will explore the
  utilisation of underground space and the development of ever more sophist
 icated construction techniques. Drawing on his considerable experience of 
 working in the congested subterranean environment\, Mr Eddie will present 
 a summary of some of the challenges encountered when tunnelling beneath ur
 ban areas and some of the novel techniques he has employed to overcome the
 m. Looking to the future\, Mr Eddie will consider what challenges will be 
 faced in the upcoming major tunnelling projects currently proposed for Lon
 don and how the UK tunnelling industry can overcome them and\nmaintain the
 ir position in a challenging international market.\n\nBIOGRAPHY: \n\nColin
  is Managing Director of Underground Professional Services Ltd and has ove
 r 35 years of experience in the Tunnelling Industry. He is responsible for
  the management of a specialist engineering group responsible for the desi
 gn of many of the UK’s most prestigious projects. He is passionate about
  the effective integration of design and construction to improve safety & 
 economy and is proud to have been associated with the introduction of many
  innovative techniques.\n
