DESCRIPTION:The talk\, hosted by the 'Science: Polish Perspectives' popula
 r science conference and Cambridge University Science Society\, will be gi
 ven by two University of Cambridge scientists: Professor Sir David Baulcom
 be and Professor Jerzy Paszkowski. The intention of our speakers is to rea
 ch out and engage with audience\, so we hope it will turn into a great dis
 cussion on the topic!\n\nIn 2009 sir David Baulcombe chaired a Royal polic
 y study on the contribution of biological science to food crop productivit
 y. He also chaired a group that produced a science update report for the B
 ritish Prime Minister about GM crops.\n\nJerzy Paszkowski has conducted re
 search in Polish Academy of Sciences\, ETH Zürich and obtained full profe
 ssorship at University of Geneva before becoming Research Group Leader at 
 University of Cambridge.
