DESCRIPTION:Prof. Woods’ work involves defining the important processes 
 in human neurodevelopment. He focuses on Mendelian disorders of painlessne
 ss and of excess pain. His research encompasses peripheral nociceptor deve
 lopment\, including the potential to generate novel analgesics. He also lo
 oks into the genetic factors that affect pain threshold\, the risk of deve
 loping neuropathic pain as well as response to analgesics. This promises t
