DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: This talk is on MONDAY 9th Novemeber\, rather tha
 n Tuesday. \n\nTo alleviate the 'week 5 blues' come to Scisoc's talk on Mo
 nday from Ewan Birney - a man who has had a profound impact on the underst
 anding of genomic biology and is widely considered one of the UK's top bio
 scientists. \n\nThe director of EMBL-EBI (European Molecular Biology Labor
 atory-European Bioinformatics Institute)\, Dr Birney's group are using gen
 omic data to study basic biological processes. \n\nIn his talk\, he will h
 elp explain some of the interpretations of the huge outpours of DNA data t
 hat have been emerging from sequencing institues. If you've wondered how i
 nterpretation of DNA can help usher in an era of personalised medicine\, c
 ome to the talk on Monday!\n\nAs usual\, the talk will be followed by wine
