DESCRIPTION:Stars and planets are all rotating. Due to the conservation of
\nangular momentum\, this leads to specific oscillations known as inertial
\noscillations. These oscillations are low-frequency and own many\npeculia
rities\, like singularities. In this talk I will review the recent\nprogre
sses in the understanding of these oscillations\, which raise many\nmathem
atical problems. I will also discuss how the properties of these\nwaves mi
ght affect the oscillation spectrum of stars and planets\, their\ninternal
dynamics or their response to a tidal forcing
