DESCRIPTION:The Centre of Rising Powers (CRP) and the Centre of Latin Amer

  Foreign Policy in the 21st Century”\n\nby Ambassador Celso Amorim\, Bra
 zil’s former Minister of Foreign Relations under the Lula administration
  (2003-2010).\n\nAll are welcome. The event will be followed by a wine rec
 eption.\n\nCelso Amorim served as Minister of Foreign Relations (1993-1994
  and\n2003-2010)\, and as Minister of Defence (2011-2014) of Brazil. Prior
  to\nthat\, he served as the Permanent Representative of Brazil to the Uni
 ted\nNations in Geneva (1991-1993) and the World Trade Organization\n(1999
 -2001)\, as the Permanent Representative of Brazil to the United\nNations 
 in New York (1995-1999) and as Ambassador to the United Kingdom (2002). He
  was also Chief Executive Officer of the Brazilian Film\nCorporation (Embr
 afilme) from 1979 to 1982 and served as Under-Secretary in the Ministry of
  Science and Technology (1985-1988).\nThis year UN Secretary-General Ban K
 i-moon appointed Celso Amorim to be a member of the UN High-Level Panel on
  Global Response to Health Crises. He is the author of several books and o
 ther publications on Culture\, Science and Technology Policy and Internati
 onal Relations. His latest book is entitled Teerã\, Ramalá e Doha (2015)
 .
