DESCRIPTION:*About the speaker*\nDr Andrew Sage is a postdoctoral research
  associate in Professor Mallat's group\, Department of medicine\n\nHe is i
 nvestigating how different subsets of immune cells regulate the developmen
 t of atherosclerosis\, in order to understand if immune therapies could sl
 ow or stabilise disease progression. \nAtherosclerosis is a complex diseas
 e with many contributing networks\, including vessel wall inflammation\, m
 etabolism and the recruitment and activation of innate and adaptive immune
  systems. research focuses on the role of immune cells in the development 
 of atherosclerosis.\n\nRecently he has been awarded a British Heart Founda
 tion Intermediate Research Fellowship.
