DESCRIPTION:The incidence and survival in people with head and neck cancer
  are changing.  Andy will present data from a large contemporary UK cohort
  of people with Head and neck cancer (head and neck 5000) that explore the
  reasons for these changes.\n\nAndy qualified in medicine from Nottingham 
 University. He was a Wellcome training fellow in clinical epidemiology at 
 Cambridge. Andy is a Professor of Epidemiology and head of the Bristol Den
 tal School Lifecourse Epidemiology and Oral Health Research Group. He has 
 interests in early life exposures\, nutrition\, physical activity\, obesit
 y\, cardiovascular risk and in cleft lip and palate and head and neck canc
 er. He is Director of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Bi
 omedical Research Unit at the University of Bristol and the University Hos
 pitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust in Nutrition\, Diet and Lifestyle Biom
 edical Research Unit and principal investigator on the Head and Neck 5000 
 cohort study. \n\nThis talk will be chaired by Dr Nita Forouhi\, who leads
  the MRC Epidemiology Unit’s Nutritional Epidemiology research programme
  at Cambridge.\n\n
