DESCRIPTION:Intellectual property (IP) may adopt many forms - patents\, tr
 ademarks\, goodwill\, designs\, copyright and know-how. But what all of th
 ese forms have in common is that they provide key IP assets potentially wi
 th substantial commercial and innovation potential. Knowing how to leverag
 e these IP assets requires a balanced blend of IP awareness\, commercial u
 nderstanding and familiarity with IP portfolio management. Committed to su
 pporting the UK industry\, IfM’s Centre for Technology Management (CTM) 
 and Avidity IP launched the Strategic Intellectual Property Forum (SIPF) e
 arlier this year to help companies understand and exploit their IP.\n \nFo
 llowing feedback from the participants at the first SIPF\, the second SIPF
  event on Tuesday 8th December 2015 will focus on IP valuation\, which we 
 intend broadly to cover not only approaches to valuing internal IP portfol
 ios\, but also the valuation or appraisal of external IP assets (e.g.\, wh
 en undergoing technology acquisitions). The half-day SIPF event will cover
  different perspectives on this topic from different industry sectors.\n \
