DESCRIPTION:The Department of Slavonic Studies is excited to launch back i
 nto our Departmental Lecture Series\, ‘A Sense of Place’ in Lent Term.
  \n \nFuture talks will transport us to the Kara-Kum Desert in the 1930s w
 ith Katharine Holt (February 4)\; next\, along the banks of the Volga with
  Jane Costlow (February 18)\; and finally to 17th century Wilno with David
  Frick (March 3).\n \n‘A Sense of Place’ is but one series of events h
 osted by the Slavonic department in what is proving to be a very full term
 ! Because of this\, the organisers of ‘A Sense of Place’ have agreed\,
  along with invited speaker Emma Widdis\, to withdraw her lecture from the
  roster\, meaning there will be no lecture on January 21.\n \nPlease do jo
 in us this term! All lectures are open to the public and are held at the U
 mney Theatre in Robinson College\, starting at 5:30pm with half an hour of
  questions and discussion at 6:30-7pm.
