DESCRIPTION:There is a growing body of evidence to support the beneficial
impacts of a relationship with a pet animal\, both physically and psycholo
gically. However\, most work to date has focused on either younger childre
n or on students with more educational needs\, and has been approached thr
ough the eyes of their parents\, guardians and teachers. This study used a
modified form of the CENSHARE Pet Attachment Survey to evaluate how impor
tant pets were to students at Moulton College and the University of Northa
mpton\, exploring how this related to aspects such as the species of pet\,
area of study of the student and whether they had a disability.
