SUMMARY: Twistors and Amplitudes - Andrew Hodges - Oxford
DTSTART:20160203T141500Z
DTEND:20160203T151500Z
UID:TALK63334@talks.cam.ac.uk
CONTACT:Mike Blake
DESCRIPTION:Twistor geometry has been studied for 50 years\, but has much
more recently taken a central place in the theory of scattering amplitudes
for fundamental particles. I will review the main features of twistor re
presentation\, as first elucidated by Roger Penrose\, and explain their re
lationship to modern developments such as the 'amplituhedron' of Nima Arka
ni-Hamed et al. The talk will be similar in character to the recent revie
 w Twistors and amplitudes\, Phil. Trans. R. Soc. A 373: 20140248.
