DESCRIPTION:Brain size varies by over 100\,000 times - and that's across m
ammals alone. How does diversity in brain size come about in evolution? Ar
e there any regularities across species\, that is\, characteristics that a
re shared by all mammalian brains\, whatever their size or the species to
which they belong? Conversely\, are there characteristics that are particu
lar to some mammalian groups\, but not others? What are the rules that gov
ern how brains are built?\n\nAt the Laboratory of Comparative Neuroanatomy
we use quantitative morphological approaches to investigate the diversity
of the nervous system across animals\, its evolution and developmental or
 igins.
