DESCRIPTION:This lecture  explores questions about the ideological impact 
 of the British rule in India and how it had been translated across visual 
 representations of cultural conflicts and racial hierarchies. A particular
  focus is put on comparing first person visual narratives\, i.e. colonial 
 amateur films\, with commercial and propaganda productions.\n
