DESCRIPTION:Matt Clifford will be giving a talk on his experience founding
  and working in an effective altruism startup. Find out how you too can st
 art a company or non-profit with the aim of radically improving the world.
 \n\nMatt Clifford is co-founder and CEO of Entrepreneur First (EF)\, Europ
 e's leading pre-seed investment programme for founders of deep technology 
 startups. Founded in 2011\, EF pioneered a world-first investment model\, 
 which backs the world's top technical talent at the earliest stage\, often
  pre-company. EF has built an outstanding track record: its startups have 
 raised over $60m of funding and are breaking ground in artificial intellig
 ence\, virtual reality and unmanned aerial vehicles\, among other fields. 
 \n\nBefore starting EF\, Matt worked at McKinsey & Co. as a strategy consu
 ltant\, where he advised public\, private and social sector clients on a r
 ange of innovation and growth topics. Outside EF\, he is co-founder and no
 n-executive director of Code First Girls and non-executive director of Tec
 hfortrade\, a charity dedicated to fostering technology innovation to alle
 viate poverty in the developing world. Matt studied at the University of C
 ambridge and at MIT\, where he was a Kennedy Memorial Scholar.
