DESCRIPTION:The discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN in 2012 was the culmi
nation of 50 years of effort to understand the structure of all the visibl
e matter in the Universe. However\, many basic questions about matter and
the Universe remain unanswered\, for example: What was the origin of the m
atter? What is the dark matter? Why is the Universe so big and old? What i
s the fate of the Universe? The Higgs boson may provide clues to some of t
he answers\, and higher-energy experiments at CERN may help show the way.
