DESCRIPTION:A method introduced independently by Treumann and Venkatesh\, 
 and by the speaker\, makes it possible to prove\, for 'modular forms mod p
 ' (in fact torsion cohomology classes)\, new cases of Langlands functorial
 ity. I will explain how base change\, in the form of 'automorphic inductio
 n' as defined in the book by Arthur and myself\, can be extended to radici
 al (non-Galois) p-extensions.\nThis applies to cohomology mod p.
