DESCRIPTION:The new AI\, Robotics and Religion Reading Group will begin in
  Lent Term\, 2016 – it will run fortnightly on Mondays in room 7 in the 
 Faculty of Divinity. The first session will be Monday 8th February at 4pm.
  \n \nIn association with the Faraday Institute’s AI and Robotics Resear
 ch Project\, this term the reading group will consider popular science fic
 tion that addresses ideas\, hopes\, and fears around technological advance
 s\, their impact on our understanding of the human\, and their interaction
 s with religious  imaginings.  This reading group is open to all who are i
 nterested in the subjects brought up by these fictions.\n \nThe group will
  begin with I\, Robot by Isaac Asimov.  It is a collection of short storie
 s involving the character Dr Susan Calvin and her account of the developme
 nt of robots in the coming centuries\, and it outlines Asimov’s famous 
 “Three Laws of Robotics”.  Please come having read the entire text.  \
 n \nThe first book will be introduced by Beth Singler\, and then after tha
 t we hope for volunteers to take on introduction responsibilities before w
 e open up to discussion. The reading group may be recorded for research pu
 rposes\, so please let Beth know if you do not wish to be included in any 
 transcriptions or written notes.\n \nThere may be the possibility to conti
 nue the discussion at the Anchor pub afterwards.\n \nThe following meeting
