DESCRIPTION:Puppet is a declarative programming language designed to make
the\nmanagement of computing infrastructure easier and more repeatable. It
\ncan be used for single machines as well as large clusters and supports\n
a wide range of different operating systems and devices. Out of the\nbox P
 uppet understands files\, services\, packages\, users\, groups and\nmore\,
and can be extended with your own types. In this brief talk we\nwill:\n\n
 * Demonstrate the basic functions of Puppet\n* Show some of the advantages
of using code over setting up\ninfrastructure manually\n* Talk about the
usecase of quickly reproducing experimental setups\n\nBio: Gareth Rushgrov
e is a senior software engineer at Puppet Labs. He\nworks remotely from Ca
mbridge\, UK\, building interesting tools for\npeople to better manage inf
rastructure. Previously he worked for the\nUK Government Digital Service f
ocused on infrastructure\, operations\nand information security. When not
working he can be found writing the\nDevops Weekly newsletter or hacking o
