integrating Chiral metamaterials with Graphene (SP Workshop) - Mr Stephen

DESCRIPTION:With the progress of Terahertz (THz) technologies in recent ye
ars\, a wide range of applications have emerged\, including security scree
 ning\, non-destructive testing\, gas sensing\, biomedical imaging and comm
unication. Active control over the properties of Terahertz frequencies is
essential for all of these applications\, including the controllable modul
ation of the phase\, amplitude and polarisation of Terahertz radiation. I
will be discussing a simulated design for an integrated Chiral metamateria
l and Graphene device capable of modulating the polarisation of Terahertz
radiation. This device should be capable of actively controlling the conve
rsion of linear polarised radiation to circular polarised radiation whilst
also being capable of twisting the angle of an incident linear polarisati
on to a degree determined by an applied voltage.
