DESCRIPTION:It has been predicted by Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid model\, or
simply Luttinger liquid model\, that spin and charge waves of one-dimensio
nal electron systems could travel at different speeds. Such phenomenon cou
ld be observed from the tunnelling process of electrons from one-dimension
al wire to two-dimensional electron system.\n\nThis talk will discuss the
experiments carried out for the measurements of momentum-resolved tunnelli
ng of electrons from one dimensional electron systems to two-dimensional e
lectron systems induced within GaAs heterostructures. Well-resolved spin-c
harge separation at low energy and parabolic dispersion of the first-level
mode at higher energies\, along with structure which resembles second-lev
el excitations (which fades away rapidly at high momentum)\, were observed
