DESCRIPTION:Date: Saturday 12th March 2016\n\nTime: 2pm\n\nVenue: Mill Lan
 e Lecture Rooms\, Mill Lane\, CB2 1RW\n\nPrice: Free\n\nAs part of the Cam
bridge Science Festival 2016\, the Alliance Française Cambridge is proud
to present the talk\, Big Data: the missing link on Saturday\, the 12th of
March 2016.\n\nAs Big Data Chief Architect at Deloitte in the City\, Char
tered Engineer in France\, MIT\, Stanford Ignite\, (fortunate enough to li
ve in the glorious university town of Cambridge)\, Adrien Arculeo will sha
re some of the insights he has gleaned from Big Data projects he leads for
7 years for ambitious big companies\, and for no more ambitious but perha
ps more innovative startups.\n\nAfter a very quick recap of what is Big Da
ta\, and its most visible and shiny application Data Science\, Adrien will
share some of the most pressing challenges of the field\, and will debunk
in passing some counterproductive myths.\n\nFollowing with his own views\
, he will discuss a central part of Big Data endeavours\, often forgotten
yet critical for success. He will argue also that it is not incidental tha
t French chartered engineers excel at it\, and that this opens tremendous
opportunities when coupled with what British teams can bring to projects.\
n\nAccustomed to adapt to senior business audiences at Deloitte\, as Subje
ct Matter Expert\, Adrien will ask the audience to vote on what they want
to hear as a conclusion.\n\nEither he will present an in-depth case study
presenting what can typically go wrong in a Big Data project. Or he will g
o about a breadth of industry applications.\n\nPlease note that after his
conference\, Adrien\, always interested in finding better ways to serve or
ganisations in their quest for customer relevance\, performance and busine
ss agility\, will be available for a Big Data projects clinic and provide
 one-to-one recommendations for those interested.\n\n
