DESCRIPTION:Computing that is sensitive to affective and social phenomena 
 aims to equip devices and interfaces with the means to interpret\, underst
 and\, and respond to human personality\, affect\, moods and intentions - s
 imilarly to how humans rely on their senses to assess each other’s affec
 tive and social behaviour.\nThis talk will focus on automatic recognition 
 of affect and social signals\, and will present an overview of recent rese
 arch works my team has conducted in these fields. Automatic affect recogni
 tion will be covered in the context of human-computer and human-virtual ag
 ent interactions\, and social signal processing will be explored in the co
 ntext of personality perception in human-robot interactions.
