DESCRIPTION:Fathers' involvement in family life: changing cross-national d
 ifferences in housework and child care.\n\nIn this presentation I examine 
 the changing nature of fathers’ \ncontributions to family life.  While t
 here is a relatively substantial literature on cross-sectional differences
  in father’s investment between subgroups of the population\, and rather
  less on overall changes in fathers’ contributions\, there is still rela
 tively little research that takes as its focus changing differences in the
 se contributions.  \nChanging differences is about throwing light on proce
 sses: the idea is that by observing the way that differences between subgr
 oups shift over time we can understand more about the underlying processes
  of change.  \nIn this presentation I look at the effect of education on f
 athers’ \nchanging contributions in low fertility countries\, and at fat
 hers’ \nchanging contributions to housework and childcare according to w
 elfare state regime.\n
