DESCRIPTION:As part of the Cambridge Science Festival\, Cambridge Polish S
 tudies and Polish Waves on Cambridge 105 present a special "Kinoteka Polis
 h Film Club" screening of the classic Polish science fiction comedy film _
 Sexmission_ (_Seksmisja_\, 1984) within the series "Reproduction on Film: 
 Sex\, Secrets and Lies" together with the Department of History and Philos
 ophy of Science. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Dr 
 Stanley Bill\, Lecturer in Polish Studie\, including Dr Karolina Wigura\, 
 Editor\, _Kultura Liberalna_\n\n_Seksmisja_ is a dystopian comedy in which
  a pair of time-travelling men arrive in a future world exclusively popula
 ted by women. The political organisation of this world is totalitarian\, a
 nd the men soon find themselves in danger. Many viewers have interpreted t
 he film partly as a commentary on communist Poland.
