DESCRIPTION:Community participation in schools is still a challenge for ma
 ny teachers around the world\, although research has demonstrated its posi
 tive impact for children’s learning and school improvement. How do teach
 ers develop ways to strengthen the relationship with the community? What f
 acilitates a dialogic school-home relationship? \n\nThis seminar will addr
 ess these questions by exploring teacher leadership practices for communit
 y participation. Drawing on teachers´ accounts\, the purpose is to discus
 s common trends that enable teachers to develop strategies that achieve im
 pact beyond the school. Taking advantage of the existence of the HertsCam 
 network and the International Teacher Leadership initiative\, we will refl
 ect on how teacher leadership enables social transformation through the wo
 rk with families and the community.
