DESCRIPTION:The clinical translation of anti-cancer nanomedicines from pro
 mising results in animal studies to a demonstration of therapeutic efficac
 y in patients is a significant challenge for the drug delivery field. Desp
 ite the heterogeneity observed in human cancers\, there is limited underst
 anding of the influence of tumour biology on nanomedicine efficacy. The sp
 eaker will discuss the assessment of nanomedicine accumulation\, intra-tum
 oural distribution\, and\nretention in xenograft and PDX tumours with diff
 erent phenotypes. The ultimate aim is to aid in pre-selection efforts iden
 tifying the most suitable tumours to treat with nanomedicines. The second 
 speaker will demonstrate how innovative developments in analytical chemist
 ry\nusing nanotechnology can simplify the testing procedures to detect bio
 markers instantly in human urine for point-of-care diagnostics.
