DESCRIPTION:This seminar is an introduction to mixed reality and working w
 ith Microsoft HoloLens.  Trimble Navigation has been one of Microsoft’s 
 earliest commercial partners on the HoloLens project.  The first applicati
 on proof of concept was shown during the Microsoft Build conference in San
  Francisco in 2015.  Trimble has since developed application concepts for 
 mining\, architecture\, civil engineering and construction.\n\nThe talk wi
 ll focus on the basic concepts of mixed reality\, technical challenges and
  user interface considerations\, as well as introducing the audience to th
 e toolset Trimble uses to consider other platforms.\n\nKim Nyberg leads th
 e Technology unit within Trimble Buildings. The unit develops shared techn
 ology and components for Trimble’s Engineering and Construction sectors 
 and has been involved in the company’s Mixed Reality Programme since its
  inception.  Kim has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Hels
 inki University of Technology (nowadays Aalto University).  He has been wo
 rking with Tekla Corporation\, acquired by Trimble in 2011\, since 1991.\n
