DESCRIPTION:_A hands-on workshop introducing the principles of Network Sci
 ence and Network Analysis with applications in R_\n\nSupported by the ELPE
 C academic group\, this two-day workshop will be facilitated by *Radu Tana
 se*\, researcher at the University of Zurich (Switzerland)\, and will feat
 ure a talk by *Dr Frank Cornelissen*\, Faculty of Education University of 
 Cambridge.\n\nThe goal of this workshop is to provide an overview of the m
 odels and techniques used in network science. The participants will learn 
 to visualize\, analyse and interpret network data. The focus will be on un
 derstanding the structure and formation of networks\, quantifying the role
  of individuals and groups in a network and developing a good understandin
 g of how the network structure affects process like social influence or ep
 idemic spreading.  The lectures will be supported with applications in R.\
 n\nRegistration (until the 15th of April) is open to all\, but please note
  that spaces are limited to 16 to account for the interactive nature of th
 e workshop. Computers with relevant software will be provided\, but you ar
 e welcome to bring your own machine.
