 lobal industry\, and it all began at the Physiology Department over 40 yea
 rs ago! The clinical imperative derives from 15% of the population of repr
 oductive age having fertility problems. The scientific interest\, however\
 , emanates from the fascination of human conception and its relationship t
 o the inefficiency of the preimplantation embryo\, miscarriage\, its devel
 opmental biology and its role in generating medicinal embryonic stem cells
 . The IVF revolution has redefined families and challenged the whole notio
 n of human procreation\; and we are just at the beginning......
