DESCRIPTION:Dr Thomas Stone\, Clinical Scientist at Addenbrooke's Hospital
  will explore an inside out model of medical device development or how cli
 nical engineering departments within the NHS support healthcare innovation
  and the development\, adoption and spread of technology to address unmet 
 needs.\nA variety of devices from surgical instruments to assistive device
 s for those with limited movement have been developed in this way. The tal
 k will look at the journey and how engineers embedded within the healthcar
 e system approach problem solving.\nDr Stone will also cover the collabora
 tion with the engineering design centre at Cambridge university to establi
 sh new and robust design practices within Cambridge University Hospital.\n
