DESCRIPTION:Let G be a reductive group over a global function field. V. La
 fforgue has recently constructed the ‘automorphic-to-Galois’ direction
  of the global Langlands correspondence for G. I will discuss a potential 
 converse to this result. This is joint work with G. Boeckle\, M. Harris\, 
 and C. Khare.
