DESCRIPTION:There is an analogy between the propagation of fields in the v
 icinity of\nastrophysical black holes and the that of small excitations in
  fluids and\nsuperfluids. This analogy allows one to test\, challenge and 
 verify\, in\ntabletop experiments\, the elusive processes of black hole ma
 ss and angular momentum loss.\n\nI will first present a brief overview on 
 analogue black hole experiments\,\nand then discuss in more detail some of
  my earlier and more recent\nexperimental and theoretical results on the s
 ubject.
