DESCRIPTION:Cosmology and Relativity are among the most rapidly advancing
fields in all the physical sciences\, with a recent flood of observational
confirming many of the theoretical developments pioneered here in DAMTP.
Mathematical insight continues to be important for this confrontation bet
ween data and theory\, with work ongoing here at the CMS on the COSMOS sup
ercomputer. Illustrations will include innovative analysis of Planck satel
lite maps of the cosmic microwave sky and numerical simulations of black h
oles\, relevant for interpreting the LIGO discovery of gravitational waves
. The next generation of extremely parallel computer architectures presen
t many algorithmic challenges for future data analytics which will require
  co-design and collaboration with industry.
